Recipe for disaster.....this is the problem when people like Davis who have never really worked for a living or owned their own businesses start to dictate to the doers of this world.
"While the easiest way for the government to collect the revenue it needs is to raise value-added tax (VAT), this is not on the cards for political reasons, says Judge Dennis Davis,......"
Subtext?:Whites must pay.......
Unfortunately, South Africa's tax base is less than 10% of the population (there are about three times more people receiving social grants than paying income tax), therefore the only way of increasing revenue is via an increase in VAT - where everyone pays. Repeatedly 'screwing' those that have jobs to support the economy - and the grand theft perpetuated by ANC officials - cannot solely be the responsibility of so few people.
That's the right recipe for emigration...sick and tired of footing the bill of an inefficient and corrupt government through my taxes. It's not the PC thing to do but increasing VAT is the only workable solution. This government needs to get its sh*t together and root out corruption before it comes knocking on our doors for taxes. Why do you think we refuse to pay etolls? You will soon have to deal with a tax revolt you incompetent kleptocrats!
Check out all the mps and officials tax returns, make them pay out standing taxes, we would soon have a great amount of tax money in the coffers,
Want to raise new revenue? End govt corruption and wasteful spending!
The Robin Hood theory. Very much of a receipt for disaster.
Judge of Integrity, please nominate him for the Judicial Commission on State Consumption.
Or just make the Government more efficient!!
no ways! the billions from vodacom, mtn, eskom. telkom and all the other government organizations which operate like profit centers should be redirected into the economy.
